Bacterial leaching of manganese ores .

Leaching of various types of ores, containing 12-30% manganese, by the thiobacterium Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans was studied. Leaching of reduced ores (manganocalcite and manganiferous limestone) was mediated mainly by degradation of manganiferous minerals (by sulfuric acid produced in the course of bacterial oxidation of pyrite or sulfur).

Reductive Acid Leaching of Low Grade Manganese Ores

Our study on acid leaching of Manganese ore with Ox-alic acid and Citric acid gives a comparative data about leaching, which shows that oxalic acid has a better lea- ching potential than citric acid. Efficiency of acid leach- ing can be calculated by using standard graph as shown in . Figure 1. 3.1. Effect of Oxalic Acid on Manganese Leaching

Kinetic Study of the Leaching of Low Grade Manganese Ores

The reductive leaching of manganese from a low-grade manganese oxide ore was investigated by using pretreated sawdust as the reductant in a sulfuric acid medium. The effects of stirring speed, liquid/solid ratio, sawdust/ore mass ratio, sulfuric acid concentration, reaction temperature, and time on the manganese extraction were examined. It was found that the leaching efficiency is strongly ...

Leaching Method for Recovering Silver amp Manganese

Feb 25, 2018 Column-leaching tests were conducted on minus 2.5- plus 1.3-cm ore pieces to evaluate a dual in situ or heap leaching method for the recovery of manganese and silver from domestic manganese deposits. The method features an initial leach of the manganese with a 5-wt-pct-SO2 solution followed by a neutralization rinse, and then a second leach of ...

PDF A Comparative Study on Acid Leaching of Low Grade

Maximum manganese recovery 92.5% in leaching step was achieved at -100 mesh particle size, 90 C, 90 min, 30% acid concentration, 1.5 acid/MnO 2 stoichiometric ratio, 0.5 g/g sawdust/ore weight ratio, and 700 rpm agitation rate in sawdust case, while manganese recovery was 90.50% in lactose case, the optimum leaching conditions were; -100 mesh ...

Manganese metallurgy review. Part I Leaching of ores

Various direct reductive leaching processes have been studied and developed for processing low manganese ores and ocean manganese nodules, including leaching with ferrous iron, sulfur dioxide, cuprous copper, hydrogen peroxide, nitrous acid, organic reductants, and bio- and electro-reductions.

Hydrometallurgical Process and Kinetics of Leaching

The extraction of manganese from a semi-oxidized manganese ore was investigated with sucrose as the reducing agent in dilute sulfuric acid medium. The kinetics of leaching manganese from the complex ore containing MnCO3 and MnO2 was also investigated. The effects of sucrose and sulfuric acid concentrations, leaching temperature and reaction time on the total Mn (TMn), MnO2 and MnCO3 leaching ...

Reducing agents in the leaching of manganese ores A

Aug 01, 2019 The leaching of manganese from manganiferous ore using whey or lactose in sulphuric acid solutions at 70 C was investigated ( Veglio et al., 2000 ). Two experiments with different pulp densities (10% and 30% w / v) were studied, each including a variation in …
